Office Mobile Editing Not Free on Surface Go- update

Hi Evan – I uninstalled and re-installed as recommended. it was ok for a few days , but I now have the message back that I need a subscription .So – it seems it is not free and Microsoft are not true to their word , or what is written in black and white on their web site and the word mobile app.
