Surface pro recovery key blocked on keyboard

My Surface pro (Win 10 prof.-1809) got sudden bluescreen and doesnt reboot. Trying recovery methods I am always asket for Bitlocker recovery key. My recovery key has 4numbers and 4 letters, but program does only accept numbers. Why does recovery key not work on your system?
